Thought I’d share some “wisdom” from getting tattooed while high, in case anyone out there is considering it. Spoiler: it’s not that deep, but here we are.

    1. Smoking before the needle:
Yes, weed can help you relax.
No, it won’t make the pain go away.
Yes, you will overthink the font choice mid-session.

    2. Edibles vs. smoking:
Edibles hit different. As in, you might start crying about your 7th grade math teacher mid-outline.
Stick to a light dose unless your tattoo artist enjoys therapy sessions.

    3. Smoking after:
      Totally fine, but don’t forget:
      – No picking or scratching your tattoo
      – No hotboxed bathrooms (moisture = bacteria = bad)
      – Avoid passing out face-first on your fresh back piece

    4. Munchies:
Salt, sugar, and regret are not part of aftercare. Eat clean, stay hydrated, pretend you’re responsible.

    5. Final tip:
Being high during a tattoo doesn’t make you cool. Neither does quoting Nietzsche in cursive on your ribs. But we all make choices.

Hope that helps someone. Or confuses them. Either way: good luck out there.

I smoked before my first piece thinking I’d “zen out” and instead I spent 3 hours stressing out when i would return to normal. 8/10 would not recommend…

I thought smoking before my first piece would help me relax, but I ended up spending three stressful hours just waiting to feel normal again. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for — 8/10 would not recommend

@parkrec i can back THC can slightly increase heart rate and blood pressure. For some people, this leads to:

                  More bleeding

                  Ink not settling as cleanly

Harder healing in the first few days

Not dramatic, but the fact that is harder healing gives you more time to get an infection
